Congratulations to Partner, Jonathan Walton

Congratulations to Partner, Jonathan Walton

Congratulations to Partner Jonathan Walton for obtaining a distinction for excellence upon completion of further studies at Oxford University. This is the highest available award for any post-graduate qualification awarded by the University.  Jonathan graduates (again) in June 2011, following a formal Oxford University ceremony.

Jonathan researched mergers of Professional Service Firms and in particular, issues of pre-merger intent and post merger integration, in the context of culture, change and organisational design.

Jonathan completed this research under the rigorous examination of Oxford University, drawing from real experiences of mergers in professional firms (including his own!) and the significant academic resources that Oxford offers.

Jonathan, who in 2004, completed Masters research at University on issues of self-regulation within the professions; to include accounting, legal and medical, has been offered an unconditional place at Exeter for further Masters research for a Doctoral thesis, to start later in this academic year.  This research will concentrate on the reasons and levels of failure of mergers in Professional Service Firms.
