Exam Success

Congratulations to all 3 of our final year students – Laura Young, Alex Mirfin and Nick Wilson - for passing their advanced stage ACA Exams, and particularly to Nick who won the Whinney Prize for the highest score in England in the Case Study exam – an excellent 92%.

The Case Study exam is an integral part of the Institute of Chartered Accountants final year exams. Nick and the others now have to complete a period gaining on-the-job experience before becoming fully qualified Associates of the Institute.

On 31st October, the sale of Newspace Insurance Services Ltd to Smart & Cook, a division of a worldwide insurance group was completed, with Tim Wallbank of Whitley Stimpson Corporate Finance advising the shareholders on the deal.

At a well attended event held at the Whately Hall Hotel on 3rd October 2008, Val Buzzard, Partner in Whitley Stimpson LLP presented the award to Caroline Bevan of Rugrats and Half Pints, a well-deserved winner in the category.
