Applying for Academy status

If you decide to apply for Academy status, our experienced team are committed to providing you with expert advice and guidance including:

Charity status - a new Academy will automatically become a charity and will become established as a Company Limited by Guarantee.  It will therefore be subject to the accounting requirements of both the Companies Act and Charities Act.

Payroll - we will help you to decide which is the best option, both initially and in the future. Factors to consider, in addition to price, include the attitude and track record of your current Local Authority provider.

Regulations - the Academy will be party to a funding agreement with Government and will be following guidance in the Academies Financial Handbook.
