Tim joined Whitley Stimpson LLP in February 2007 to develop the Corporate Finance function. He spent the previous 10 years with a major corporate finance practice as lead adviser on acquisitions, disposals, management buy-outs, buy-ins and fundraising. His early background was in the corporate banking sector.

Tim is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and is affiliated to The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

Tim has always specialised in mid-market, owner-managed businesses. He has advised on transactions in a wide variety of sectors, but food manufacturing, motor retail and engineering are particular specialities.

Recent transactions include:

  • £12 million restructure and refinance of an advanced materials engineering group, involving both a venture capital house and a major clearing bank.
  • £8 million management buy-out of the second biggest branded energy drink business in the UK
  • Several acquisitions of motor retail dealerships, usually by MBO or MBI teams.
  • £17 million disposal of fresh produce business
  • Disposal of software business to a listed public company

Tim has 34 years experience in the financial sector. He has negotiated many, many deals on behalf of clients – with owner managers, private equity houses, corporate bodies including major plc’s, banks and other lending institutions.

He is well known in the corporate finance world with a huge network of contacts to help find the right buyer or seller for his clients.
