My experience

Following the completion of my A-Level exams in Summer 2019, I joined Whitley Stimpson as a school leaver, where I became an accounting apprentice working towards completing my ACA exams. I’m pleased to say I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2022.

In my time at the firm, I have completed a variety of assignments involving accounts preparation and audits of both large and small companies, together with supporting not-for-profit organisations with their financial reporting requirements.

Describe what you do at Whitley Stimpson

I’m proud to be a key member of the Banbury audit team, working alongside some great people. We deliver top quality audits to all sizes of firms in a range of sectors as well as local charities.

As well as working on audit assignments, I’m fortunate to have the variation of working with SMEs and individuals on accountancy and tax advice. I especially enjoy working closely with business owners to help them achieve their goals.

Why Whitley Stimpson?

Whitley Stimpson offers a great environment for staff to work in whilst also encouraging personal development. This includes the exposure that staff can get by engaging in a varied client portfolio whilst supporting individuals through their accountancy exams.

This then helps provide a high quality and personal service to clients with all staff being skilled and knowledgeable in the advice provided.

What matters to you?

From a work perspective, I always aim to provide a great service to clients by ensuring the advice I provide is accurate and tailored to their needs, which I achieve by gaining a strong understanding of every business and individual’s own unique circumstances.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching and playing football, especially following Oxford United (where I have a season ticket), as well as following Formula 1 where thanks to our brilliant location among many great motorsport teams, I have been able to enjoy multiple race weekends at Silverstone. I also play in a local brass band, a hobby I’ve had over the past 10 years and which has taken me all over the country to meet some great people.
