Our Heritage

Whitley Stimpson was founded in 1931 at premises in High Street, Banbury.

The firm is consistently growing in size, stature and reputation, moving to its current location at Penrose House in Banbury in 1992. It is now one of the largest independent accountancy firms in the M40 corridor from North Oxfordshire to High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, from where it reaches into the powerhouse of industry and commerce in London.

The Hale Partnership of High Wycombe merged its auditing accounting and taxation business with Whitley Stimpson in October 2010 to give the business a second permanent base at the southern end of the M40 corridor.  In 2014 the business moved into new town centre offices, four times the size of their previous premises to expand and give better value and services to customers.

Whitley Stimpson grew further in 2014 when it merged with Baxter, Payne and Haigh Ltd in Bicester and again in 2016 when it merged with the Morgan Harris Group in Witney, further bolstering our strong team of specialists and the firm’s geographical reach.
