I graduated from The University of Sheffield in 2019 with a degree in History. Before I joined Whitley Stimpson, I had previous work experience in retail environments, including my parents’ shoe business. This has turned out to be invaluable in what I do now as understand the needs of our smaller trading clients.
Describe what you do at Whitley Stimpson
I’m a trainee accountant working towards my ACA qualification and am involved in preparing accounts, VAT returns and tax returns for a range of sole traders and limited companies as well as self-assessments for our private tax clients. I expect to qualify as a chartered accountant in 2022.
Why Whitley Stimpson?
I chose Whitley Stimpson because I could instantly tell that the company were friendly and supportive and that they embraced modern training practices. The firm are making sure I get first class training which I really appreciate. My initial feeling about the firm has proven right – I really enjoy being part of the firm and the type of work I do.
What matters to you?
I enjoy building relationships with colleagues and clients and understanding the business behind the numbers. Outside of work, I spend my free time with family (when I can), cooking, reading and going on long walks. I’m looking to getting back to doing more travelling and attending music events when Covid restrictions permit. I want to expand my horizons both professionally and personally.
