Robin Collins

Trainee Accountant

My experience

After graduating from Southampton University with a degree in accounting and finance, I was positive that the finance industry was the one I wanted to work in. I joined Whitley Stimpson in April 2018 and have been given a large variety of work including preparing service charge accounts and auditing on site, as well as preparing tax returns.

Describe what you do at Whitley Stimpson

At Whitley Stimpson I am responsible for preparing accounts, corporation and personal tax returns, alongside various other activities.

Why Whitley Stimpson?

I feel like the opportunities at Whitley Stimpson are vast, and I was excited by the responsibility of direct client contact that is given to trainees, as this would greatly benefit my progression as an accountant.

What matters to you?

What matters to me is making sure that I feel like every day at work is an experience. Learning at all times is crucial for anyone’s development. Working with people who are respectful is important to me, and I have felt like I have been treated with the utmost respect by my colleagues which I am very grateful for.
