Sam Speed

Trainee Accountant

My experience

I joined Whitley Stimpson in October 2017, part time whilst I was working towards my AAT level 2 and 3 qualifications at college. I have since achieved both of those qualifications. After college I became full time in August 2018 and have been studying towards the ACA qualification since.

Describe what you do at Whitley Stimpson

Trainee Accountant studying towards ACA qualification whilst working on accounts, VAT returns and tax returns for smaller businesses.

Why Whitley Stimpson?

The company is rapidly growing whilst ensuring it still maintains a dedicated approach to both clients and staff. As a trainee, the company’s training policy and reputation is obviously also very important; something the company exceeds in.

What matters to you?

I believe it is very important to get a healthy work and social balance. Within work exposure to new work and experiences is crucial to professional development. I also feel the same about new experiences outside of work, hence why I enjoy visiting new places and trying different things.
