Audit Senior / Semi-Senior

The audit team in Banbury are going through an organic growth and we are seeking an individual to join us at this exciting time. We have acquired a number of new audit clients over the last twelve months in addition to our existing audit portfolio covering a wide range of industry sectors. We are looking for someone that has the drive and ambition to lead on audits, grow our client base further and maintain our existing client relationships.

As an auditor with Whitley Stimpson you will report to our audit manager and partners, taking responsibility for completing tasks accurately, to deadline and liaising with clients to ensure that the audit is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will act as audit semi senior / senior on audit assignments, taking responsibility for the overall audit direction and supervision of junior staff, as well as preparing audit planning documentation for review by the audit manager.

We are seeking a qualified or part qualified ACA/ ACCA auditor, who has direct audit experience including experience of planning and completing audit assignments.

Your day to day tasks will be –

  • To deliver the audit files in accordance with UK GAAP
  • Planning and delivery of audit assignments
  • Supervising junior staff during the audit and reviewing their work
  • To manage client communication in an effective manner
  • Monitoring your assignment budgets pro-actively
  • Keeping updated with industry developments
  • Mentoring audit and accounts trainees
  • To produce more complex draft financial statements in a statutory format using the firm’s accounting software
  • Producing consolidated financial statements for a group

You will be –

  • Able to plan, review and complete audit files in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Computer literate with the ability to use the MS office suite products
  • Strong in your accounting skills with experience using Sage, Xero, Quickbooks and Key Accounts
  • A strong problem solver with the ability to identify possible solutions
  • A good communicator with the ability to work within a team
  • Organised and able to prioritise jobs effectively
  • Self-motivated and willing to work outside normal hours as required
