Specialist team

Whitley Stimpson’s education team works with and advise over 25 Academy Trusts, including single academies, multi-academy trusts, free schools and special educational needs academies.

Our dedicated team was established to ensure that our academy clients are served by expert and knowledgeable people and that they are serviced effectively and efficiently at all times.  This reflects our commitment to and passion for the education sector where there are constantly changing regulations that demand specialist knowledge and a proactive approach. We are constantly advising our clients through sector changes and how these impact them.

We place significant importance on ensuring our team is up to date on current and emerging issues and developments affecting the education sector. We do this through a programme of sector-specific internal and external training, so they understand and are knowledgeable of the issues likely to affect academies during the audit.

Our team are also members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Charities Special Interest Group, which provides a regular digest of developments in the charity and academy sector. We also have a regular dialogue with the EFA so that our team are up to date on the latest issues and developments from the EFA’s perspective.

We also regularly monitor updates from the Department for Education, the Education Funding Agency, the Charity Commission so that we can advise our clients of the latest developments and issues impacting them.
