Top property experts honour Whitley Stimpson team

Directors and staff at accountancy specialist firm Whitley Stimpson are celebrating after being highly commended in a prestigious awards scheme.

Judges at the 2023 ACE awards, organised by the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA), singled out the firm for praise in the Service Charge Accountancy Firm of the Year category.

The service charge accounting team led by director Jonathan Walton attended the awards ceremony at Old Billingsgate in London.

Jonathan said:

“We are delighted to have been highly commended – it was an honour to have been shortlisted amongst the best accountancy firms in the country. The team really enjoyed the evening. It was a wonderful opportunity to make valuable contacts within the property industry and fantastic recognition of what they have achieved in the past year.”

The company, with offices in Banbury, Bicester, High Wycombe and Witney, was one of a record number of entries to the awards aimed at companies achieving best practice in their field.

The awards category was dedicated to the efficiency and overall performance of ARMA members, for example through client education and staff training and development.

Whitley Stimpson acts for more than 500 separate blocks of flats throughout England, providing expert advice on all aspects of service charge accounting to property managing agents, landlords, residential management companies and tenants.

This covers everything from accounts preparation to setting budgets and establishing procedures to comply with the lease ensuring resident management companies keep up to date with new service charge accounting requirements.

The firm has also undertaken investigative work where tenants have concerns over their property’s leasehold accounts with its experts regularly speaking at industry events covering areas such as VAT intricacies, common accounting mistakes and latest developments.
