Whitley Stimpson competes in Twin Town Challenge 2018

May 29, 2018

Whitley Stimpson took part in the 2018 Twin Town Challenge over the bank holiday weekend, helping to raise money for SpecialEffect.

The firm, who are one of the largest accountancy firms in Oxfordshire, were tasked with purchasing a £500 car and decorating it to a certain theme. The topic of this year’s event was ‘At the Movies’. With our car decked out to look like the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo, and with the team in complete fancy dress, they headed to Le Touquet in France to take part in a series of fun challenges and events.

Laura Adkins, Alan Morgan and Luke Wiseman, all from the firm’s Witney office, have helped to raise a remarkable £2,605 so far for SpecialEffect, an Oxfordshire based charity who enable people with disabilities to enjoy and take part in video games.

Laura, director of Whitley Stimpson, said: “It was an honour to take part in Twin Town 2018. SpecialEffect is a charity that does such a lot of hard work for so many people and to be able to help them do that was a special feeling. The event was incredibly well organised and we all had an amazing time. I can’t believe how much money has been raised so far – we’ve been so lucky to have such generous support from so many people. It really does go such a long way. I think maybe we’ll all keep our fancy dress outfits, for when there’s a mystery that needs solving at work!”

Alan, the firm’s Business Developer, was also keen to express his thoughts on the weekend. He said: “A fabulous fun weekend with some great people raising money for an incredible charity. We all made new friends and refreshed old acquaintances and will remember the weekend forever. Hats off to the guys from Twin Town Challenge for organising these memorable and unique events. Pity it only happens every two years! And remember, what happens in Le Touquet doesn’t stay in Le Touquet, just look at the photos and videos!”

Luke echoed Alan’s words and said: “I’m very grateful to have been able to take part in Twin Town 18, the organisers did a fantastic job and I loved every minute of it. Great events, great food, great beer, great company, and all raising money for a great cause!”

Whitley Stimpson would like to thank everyone for their kind donations so far to SpecialEffect – if you would like to donate to the cause, you can follow this link.
